Units under the Division
To streamline the Procurement Division, it has been divided into the following four units:
i. Policy and Administration Unit
This unit deals with the administration and financial management of the division, procurement policies, procurement courses and briefings, preparation of reports on the procurements of the ministry and Royal Malaysian Police and Agency / Department Under Ministry, preparation of the specifications for supply and service tenders, monitoring of the performance of suppliers, monitoring of the implementation of e-Procurement and GPIS by all responsibility centres, etc.
ii. Technical Procurement Unit
This unit handles the procurement of various types of aircraft, helicopters, marine equipment, aircraft spare parts, firearms, vehicles, communication equipment and other equipment.
iii. ICT Procurement Unit
This unit manages the procurement of ICT equipment, system and application development and maintenance for the system.
iv. General Procurement Unit
This unit manages the procurement of general equipment such as clothing, medical equipment, fresh/dry food, furniture, stationery, consumables, security equipment, photography equipment, canine and horse equipment, lift system maintenance and repair services and compound cleaning service.
Allocation
The Procurement Division manages the procurement of non-physical supplies for the departments / agencies under the ministry under the development expenditure (P. 62) and operating expenditure (B. 62) allocations. Both these allocations are handled separately by two units in the division, namely the Technical Procurement Unit (development expenditure) and General Procurement Unit (operating expenditure).
Guidelines
Procurement of supplies and services is subject to Treasury circulars (1PP) and also Treasury Direction that been issued by Ministry Of Finance (MOF).
