Citizenship Application

Citizenship application can be submitted to National Registration Department (NRD). Below are the categories and its basic requirements (Annex A).

**Duration of residency is calculated from the date of issuance of the Permanent Resident Identity Card (MyPR).

Re-application of Malaysian Citizenship

Individuals who have been released or deprived of citizenship are allowed to submit re-application of Malaysian citizenship, subject to certain conditions. Application can be submitted to the National Registration Department (NRD). Further enlightenment on this matter can be referred directly to the NRD for advice on the suitability of the case background.
