Distinguished guests, Ladies and gentlemen.
1.It is a great pleasure for me to be here this morning, the 12th day on the month of Ramadhan for the Soft Launch of the 4th General Police Equipment Exhibition and Conference Asia 2015, in short GPEC ASIA 2015. I would also like to extend our warm welcome to all the guests present here. It gives me great pleasure to grace this significant occasion on this much anticipated and specialized event.
2.This is the 4th time that the GPEC event is organised in Asia.  I am especially happy that the exhibition-cum-conference is to be held in Kuala Lumpur. I am confident that all of the delegates attending the exhibition and meetings would benefit from the briefings, discussions and exchanges at such an event.
3.It is a must-attend event for police officers and staff of all ranks.  This is the biggest event of the year, and a unique opportunity to see and sample the current and future products and services needed for every aspect of policing.
Distinguished guests, Ladies and gentlemen
4.Running alongside the exhibition proper is a high impact security forum namely the Putrajaya International Security Dialogue held at the Seri Pacific Hotel on the 22nd October 2015. The Dialogue will see delegations from multiple countries discussing issues regarding security threats globally.
5.The event is expected to attract more than 15,000 visitors including professionals working within the police and security sectors nationwide, plus representatives of the Ministry of Home Affairs and Internal Security, Revenue and Customs, Royal Malaysia Police and Auxiliary Police Units, all of whom should be registering now to attend.  A list of top delegations from the regions Ministry of Home Affairs, police forces and related security organisations has been officially invited and are also expected to attend the show.
Distinguished guests, Ladies and gentlemen
6.The police and homeland security enforcement agencies, and companies of the industry from throughout the world and in the region will be able to make use of this event for the exchange of product and systems information pertaining to their related organisations. It is expected that some 300 exhibitors coming from more than 25 countries will be attending the exhibition and conference. I would like to represent the Organizing Committee our heart-warming gratitude to all the sponsors for all the strong support to this event.
7.The objective of organising this exhibition and conference is to furnish a platform for the exhibitors in the field of police equipment business both at home and abroad to display their achievements and products so as to promote the technical exchange between local, regional and the big international companies and to push forward the continuous improvement of police equipment in the region.
Distinguished guests, Ladies and gentlemen
8.I believe that this exhibition will give an impetus or the moving force to the development of our police equipment and the progress of the police equipment business throughout the region.
9.GPEC ASIA 2015 will be Malaysias and the regions biggest and most influential event for policing and homeland security, will take place from 21st 23rd October at the Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC).  The 2015 event is open to all police officers, staff, associates, colleagues and public visitors and will showcase the latest equipment and technology for the policing and security sector from over 300 exhibitors.
10.I believe that it is of paramount importance to make this observation, since in our modern and globalized environment, security is a concept directly linked to the concepts of geopolitics and geo-economics.
11.Security today concerns us all. It concerns the international community, the states, the governments, the societies and the citizens.
12.This assumption makes us responsible for managing this whole issue, in an efficient but also in a human-focused way, so as to be friendly, firm and professional in carrying out our policing duties.
Distinguished guests, Ladies and gentlemen
13.GPEC ASIA 2015 is also a strong endorsement of our efforts to position Malaysia as the top location in the region for conferences and exhibitions. I would like to thank our partner, F & R Exhibition and Conference Sdn Bhd for their organisational expertise, all the various agencies, sponsors and exhibitors -- for their support.
14.Once again, on behalf of the Home Ministry, I would like to extend our hearty gratitude to all the guests present at todays Official Soft Launching Ceremony and wishing the staging of GPEC ASIA 2015 a complete success. It is with great joy and lafaz Bismillahirrahmannirrahim that I officially soft launch GPEC ASIA 2015.
Wabillahittaufik wal hidayah, wassalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh. Thank you.
